Business analytics student with a background in financial technology, research, and investment analysis.
I'm Manan Patel, a Master's student in Applied Business Analytics at Boston University's Metropolitan College (expected May 2027). I came to analytics from a business and financial-technology background: I earned my B.S. in Business Administration, with a concentration in Financial Technology, at the New Jersey Institute of Technology and was on the Dean's List from Fall 2020 through Spring 2024.
Alongside and after that degree, I worked as a research analyst at Tradedesk Securities, interned in investment real estate management at Capstone Elite, and supported program administration as a business consultant at the Explorra School of Design and Technology. Across all three, the common thread was the same: take messy information, find what matters, and explain it clearly to the people making decisions.
I like to check my numbers and be upfront about what the data can't support. In a recent job-market analysis of about 504,000 postings, nearly four in five listings had no salary at all, so I reported results only on postings with real pay data instead of filling the gaps with a made-up average, and I noted the data's quirks next to each finding.
I'm looking for business analyst and data analytics roles where I can pair requirements gathering and stakeholder work with hands-on analysis, the kind of work where a clear recommendation shapes an operational or financial decision. My interests are financial technology, data storytelling, and analytics at cloud scale.
